Mess, mess and more mess!

We should start this post with an apology! You may have noticed some children leaving school slightly messier than usual today! All we can say is we had loads of fun!

We have had a fantastic afternoon working with Year 2 pupils to create a combined art project. The project started off with some papier mache work.

Here are some photos of us working together. Everyone had an excellent time and we can't wait to meet up again and continue our project.

Come back soon to find out what we are making and to see our final creations.

Ant Hunting!

As we are studying plants, insects and bugs for our topic this term we will be keeping an ant farm in our classroom.

We sent out a group of explorers into the depts of the playground to hunt out some ants for our Ant farm. Come back soon and discover how our Ants have settled into their new home.

Scientists at work

We all know that plants need water and sunlight to grow, but what happens if plants don't get these things?

We have been carrying out scientific investigations and making predictions based on planting cress seeds. Here are our results.

Here is the cress we have grown that had both water and sunlight.

This cress was growing in a dark cupboard - we predicted it would die and were very surprised to see it had grown yellow.

This cress had no water - we predicted it wouldn't grow and we were very pleased to see we were correct.

Grass heads

We have been busy planting grass seed heads this week and were very excited to arrive in school this morning to find our grass finally growing.

We will post some more pictures as they grow.

We really like them, do you?

Welcome Back!

I hope everyone has had a very enjoyable half term.

This half term we are looking forward to becoming scientists and will be studying Plants and Insects.

We started our topic with a walk around the school grounds. We hope you like all the different plants we have discovered so far.
